Steps to the Certified Financial Modeler qualification

  1. You can register for the Certified Financial Modeler program online.

  2. In reply you will receive an invoice from the German Institute for Corporate Finance.

  3. Upon receipt of the amount stated on the invoice on the account of the German Institute for Corporate Finance you can log in at the Center for Financial Modeling.

  4. You can begin with your targeted exam preparation with the help of the e-learning tools and the textbook “Financial Modeling” as well as the Excel files that are ready for download.

  5. When you are ready, you can register for the Certified Financial Modeler exam (Registration for the Certified Financial Modeler exam). Simply send an email to the GICF at info‎@dicf‎.‎de, specifying the date and location as well as the module of the Certified Financial Modeler exam at Deutsche Börse you want to take. Please state in your email: last name, first name, date of birth, place of birth, street, postal code and city.

  6. You take the exams for  Module 1, Module 2 and Module 3 of the Certified Financial Modeler program.

  7. Once you have passed the exam for Module 1, Module 2 and Module 3, we will hand out the certificate for the Certified Financial Modeler.

  8. Optional: Should you also have an interest in obtaining ECTS, you can additionally receive a university certificate of HfWU and a certificate supplement listing the achievements completed along with ECTS earned. The modules respectively partial modules with the associated ECTS which were obtained in the context of the certificate program Certified Financial Modeler can be presented to receive credit in study programs at the bachelor and master level.

Upon receipt of the Certified Financial Modeler certificate, participants are entitled to hold the title Certified Financial Modeler.
